  Hongda Harry Wu spent 19 years in a Chinese forced labor camp system known as Laogai. He was never officially charged with committing a crime. When he was finally released, he emigrated to the United States where he has spent the past 20 years raising awareness concerning the human rights violations imposed by the Chinese government. He has reported findings from secret excursions into these Laogai camps. He has won numerous awards and is currently nominated for the 2002 Nobel Peace Prize. Harry Wu
