aka Jules or The "Artist"

__

_It's 2:00 in the morning and I am sitting here devotedly making the design of our website. Every now and then my head begins to droop and I begin nodding off. When I wake up my head is on the keyboard, there are about 20 pages of senseless random letters on the screen and I have the imprint of the spacebar on my forehead.

_Well ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little, but I do have to admit that the making of this Seevak project took many hours out of my life, schoolwork, sleeping schedule and sanity. I would like to apoligize to every one of the victims (mostly my team members) who had to deal with my anxious rantings and out of control outbursts. Yet, no matter how much toiling went into this website, I am not regretful that I actually went through with it. In fact, I feel very fulfilled and relieved right now.

_I'm a 16-year old sophmore at Boston Latin School. I enjoy art in all forms: drawing, writing, painting, dancing, and singing. This is why I took up the job of designing this website, and doing many of the creative aspects. I am a part of the BLS Gospel Choir. I also enjoy annoying - I mean having fun with my friends.

_Making this website was enjoyable because graphic design is something that I possibly want to pursue as a career. Also, the knowledge I gained about Ida B. Wells-Barnett, her works, and the history of the life of blacks in the United States was a wake up call for me. Now that I have read about the lynchings and brutality that blacks went through, I am more thankful for the freedoms I have today. I am also inspired by Ida's example to take action to research the facts and do something about injustice, whether through wring, or speaking up for human rights. This experience has helped me to lokk at history in a different light and to appreciate the works of such crusaders as Ida. B. Well-Barnett.
