Haymarket Affair

The International Working People's Association organize a meeting May 4th in Haymarket Square, Chicago. A bomb explodes, police officers killed and injured. The police then shoot into the crowd, causing the same tragedies among the assembly. Without evidence, 8 anarchist leaders are arrested, yet 7 were not at the meeting and one was speaking at the time of the bomb. They are found guilty and later four are hanged- Albert Parsons, August Spies, Adolph Fischer, George Engel; Louis Lingg commits suicide in jail.
