Welcome to the

Dr. Martin Robert Coles was a pioneer in the world of child psychiatry. His new techniques of studying children helped others to understand the behavior of children as well as to understand what they go through each day. Starting out as a medical student, he was none to excited with the medical school curriculum and chose to work at a soup kitchen of The Catholic Worker instead of going to classes. After medical school he interned in pediatrics and then child psychiatry. He began to talk with his young patients with polio. He found out how much he could learn about children by watching them, drawing with them and conversing with them. Throughout his professional career Dr. Coles has dealt with people from all ages and segments of society. His renowned work is studied by people all over the world.
