In 1905 Jorg Lanz was publishing a magazine named "Ostara" , after the Teutonic god of beauty . Ostara was filled with occultist teachings and beliefs . Lanz claimed that 100,000 copies were sold annually . He even claimed the British General Kitchener was a regular subscriber . Lanz wrote in a pseudoscientific style that hammered out his racialist theme over and over and over .

Incidentally a little known avid collector of Ostara resided in Austria , his name was Adolph Hitler . Hitler was so enthusiastic about Lanz's Ostara magazine that he sought out the author , so that he could interview him and get back issues of Ostara . Hitler was so inspired by Lanz's work that in his future book "Mein Kampf" there would be passages upon passages of paraphrased work taken from articles in Ostara .

Lanz's dream of the purification of the German people was outlined in Ostara. He wrote that to best meet this goal is to increase the birth rate of the racially pure , to do this there had to be dedicated eugenics convents , with brood mothers for the Aryan males . Polygamy is recommended for this purpose .

Lanz's solutions to those who are mentally ill or handicapped were to be sterilized , those of different race were to be deported to Madagascar or killed . In his teachings Lanz claims that the crusades were purely to prevent inferior races from the east marching on the west . He also said the Holy Grail was the representation of the psychic powers of pure blooded Aryan man and the search for the Grail was the search for purity .

Lanz also commented that marriages between a Aryan and a non Aryan should be punishable by starvation .
Lanz also used to state that democracy and capitalism was a sinister invention of other inferior races such as the Jews . The Jews ultimate aim was to sabotage the Aryan mission of reaching it's full potential .

In 1907 Lanz formed a society devoted to his crusade , he called it "THE ORDER OF THE NEW TEMPLARS" and he based it in Austria . Lanz then created special prayers and psalms for this new order and even claimed that he had momastic experiences .
The ultimate purpose of this society was to salvage the Aryan man from racial impurity and the extermination of inferior races . His ultimate vision of the world was that of harmony , the arts , science and occult religions and to see the Aryan race thrive in all countries around the world .

A person who was deeply effected by the teachings Jorg Lanz and Guido Von List , was a man named Heinrich Himmler. Such teachings would be seriously thought over and some of Lanz's proposals implemented by the future Nazi state .

However Jorg Lanz did not stay within Hitler's good books for long , as in 1933 , when Hitler came to power , Lanz made claims that 'he' was Hitler's mentor and should have been given credit for the creation of National Socialism . Hitler did not like Lanz's outburst and had the works of Jorg Lanz Von Liebenfels banned .
