"Dedication of the World War Memorial to the Boys of the Boston Latin School, April 8, 1925":

"These young men well beloved, nurtured in noble studies, seeking with supreme gallantry, death for the sake of others; martyrs in will and in deed, secured for us a serene peace, and for themselves life everlasting. A multitude likewise well beloved nurtured in the same studies martyrs in will; happily restored from peril, sought for the sake of others, now share a serene peace with us, rejoicing in our praise and gratitude."
